Murder and the Mystery Behind it~ New game- coming soon~

Postby mercedes » Tue Oct 07, 2008 7:22 am

Hi People..~:D

I have a new game coming out..it is a murder mystery. It's in its Alpha Stage..It's made for Windows..1st person and a 3rd person Character in a few frames.

Synopsis--Details are subject to change..but so far this is what I have..

You're a detective and your name is Detective Skarpetta..

.........You get a phone call in the middle of the night, from a friend, her name is Dayna..Dayna's a scientist..who's cottage/house resides in a small retirement village off the coast. It's been a while since u last heard from her..It's odd that she would be calling you and wanting you to come down. The sound of her voice..something is wrong. A gut feeling tells you there is.
You agree to go. It's a 4 hour drive, to get to her cottage..When u get there, there's a man in front of her house..He calls himself Roberts..Roberts is a former c.s.i. ..a good friend and colleague of Dayna's..After speaking to Robert's, one thing is clear..Dayna is missing. Something has happened in this house..There is blood at the head of the bed..the power is out..and her bed has been slept in. The neighbor called Roberts complaining of noise..
Is it possible Dayna was murdered?...If so who did it.?..See if you can't pick up on clues and find out what happened here..

Key Features~ This game is being made with KeyGuard and Hotspot Magic.

Custom Inventory..with hover effects..and sound.
Inventory objects can be dragged from the inventory..
Cursor change to the item..can be dragged across the objects..in any part of the frame.
Item description with hover effects and Tabs.

I hope to update with more details as they come..:)..and add more pictures as well..

Note: I tend to change my pictures alot..lol..so they may change from time to time..:P Also, many of the Graphics used in my game come from someone else..and have to have permission to use..I will mention this in the game of course..for an example this Cottage Stock..:D

There are a few ppl whom i would like to Thank for helping me with this project..and that is..

Lyberodoggy--help with puzzles and scripting
ShadowHunter--help with KeyGuard and just all around patience..lol..
Harvester--Music..:D of course..
ZW--Drawings and great advice..:D

And of course anyone else who has patience with me .. in helping me..

Peace..

I like the first and the last one. In the second one, I like the cat eye moon. ;) However, to be honest the path seems to head into the sky, which looks a bit odd. This is probably caused by the fact that the tree separates both the path and the sky. Put some part of a side cliff on the right of the tree or something and it will probably do the trick.

Keep it up! :)

Hey Z...

Does it matter if they're climbing up hill..? Which tree by the way..?
I assume u mean the tree on the left....If that was a full tree..would that fix it too.....? I think that's what u mea when u say separate the sky ..

Thanks..:D
Ok....so... unless u want me emailing u like crazy..u may want to answer this...lol..No just kidding..:P

Thanks Kiddo...:D

I made them myself..using other ppl's textures though..

There is about 5 pictures mixed into one in most of them..I just use them as layers, and then erase stuff I don't want in them...For example..the road was a picture with the mountains..I add the other stuff..The moon i got from another one..trees from another one..that sort of thing..

By the way Z i fixed it...tell me if that is any better..please..:D

Thanks Again..:D

In the picture titled "outside3"... What's going on there? Is the player standing on the edge of a cliff? It just seems weird to have trees and rock on both sides, and then have this fissure in the middle. Looks amazing, just a little hard to wrap my head around.

Much better, mercedes. As for what Zenoc2 is referring to, I think you just need a horizon line to show some sort of ground level without too much details to create the illusion of depth. If you are not sure what I am talking about, just e-mail me and I will show you.
