Now Available Version 1.4!

NEW UPDATES!
If you have an older version, please update the pl1 file using the pl1 file from version 1.4 and add the new additional OCX file, AMSLG.ocx
Download Version 1.4: http://hickchickgames.codecove.net/downloads/AMSaveLoadGame_v1.4.zip
Now Includes: "Restore Last Saved Game" and "Remove All Saved Games"

What is it?

AMSaveLoadGame© is an alternative method for saving and loading games then what comes with out-of-the-box AdventureMaker™.
By adding some files and hotspots with a few lines of code, you can have a graphical Save/Load option for your games.

What the user sees:

Starting from the main menu, the user can start a new game or load a previous game. If they click on the load game hotspot, a new screen displays a series of thumbnail images of the screens where they saved the game or where an auto-save was added. Each thumbnail has a caption displaying a small description of the location and a date stamp.

During game play, the player may encounter a new screen that auto-saves. They will see a timed message(fig. 2) that will tell them the game has been saved.

At some point, the user might want to save the game, depending on how you have it set up, the user might click on a “save game” hotspot or use the “Ctrl-S” shortcut keystroke. Again, a timed message(fig. 2) will briefly display that the game has been saved.
The other option during gameplay is loading a previously saved game. The user would click on a “load game” hotspot or use the “Ctrl-L” shortcut keystroke, which would open the “load game” screen shown in figure 1.
With version 1.4, you can now restore your last saved game during game play. The user would click on a "restore game" hotspot or use the "Ctrl-R" shortcut keystroke, which would automatically restore to the last saved game.

This plugin was designed to give the player a more pleasurable way to save and load games. There are several simple customizations you can make after you get it set up in your project to make this more suited to your game environment.

Please report any issues or ideas for enhancements.

How? You mean how did I build it? After letting it sit for 2 years and looking at it again, I asked the very same question to myself!

You have a good memory, Shadowhunter!

Yeah, Yeah....I'm getting there... I have to build the rest of the documentation and send it off to my "official" tester. I'm also using the "you-know-what" that you built to help with installing it in projects.
