GIF PROBLEM

Postby GORDON » Sat Dec 24, 2011 3:43 am

I've noticed that playing a gif sequence with transparency sometimes makes the transparent area flash white randomly and sometimes not at all. Could my new computer have a problem keeping up or is this a bug? Perhaps my gif is too big[400x 128 pixels]. Thanks in advance!

Are you using the feature that comes with AM...or a gif-player plugin..?

If its the feature that comes with AM...That can happen..It's glitchy.
...
You might want to convert to video instead..or use a player plugin --if indeed you aren't yet..

Also, It's quiet possible if its an animation you grabbed off the internet..that one of two of the frames..that make up the animation...aren't set to full transparency..

Some of those animations have over 300+ frames...It's not hard to imagine..one or two might be missed..

I tried making the animation possible reducing the images but, the white sequence is just making me nervous. I'm using GIF Sequence Player.

In the end reneuend suggest me to make that .avi and put it in the game... It's way better! :D

I am using the gif player and each gif in the sequence has clear transparency. What program changes a gif sequence to avi and how does it affect the transparent areas?

Just an update! When I filled in the transparent areas with black, the flickering white gifs seemed to disapear. It must be a problem with the transparency. Fortunately, my background frame in this case was already black but in other frames my background is multi colored so I would have to fill each gif transparency[40x] with the corresponding background color.

..that's the next thing I was going to suggest..make the area of transparency black...

Sometimes its not the best idea-- if indeed u have any black in the animation..

However, anything other than white will do as well..whatever isn't in the animation..will work..You just have to make sure the program you use...that you set the right color for transparency..

As for the video...WindowsMovieMaker works to convert animations..Keep in mind..they make for big files though..
