3D Game [SOLVED]

Postby Morsy » Wed Feb 08, 2012 11:24 pm

Sorry if this isnt the right forum to put this topic in, but im trying to make a 3D game, and when you download adventure maker you get games already made. One is called 360 degree panorama and you can actually move your mouse around and look around. It looks like it was made with Bryce 7, so I got it and made a quick little map. I made it into a bitmap picture and put it in my adventure maker game and it turns out as one shot/frame of the map. :?
Im not very good at this lol.. Help please?

Welcome to the forums :)

You need to use the AM Panorama Plugin to get this effect of 360 degree rotation.

You can also use the Cubic Panorama plugin, but beware - your frames must be rendered in panoramic view...

Hope that this will help you and don't hesitate to ask for anything... ;)

:( I couldn't find the AM panorama in the plugin list. I tried to get the cubic panorama instead, but it took me to a weird site saying 404 page not found... something like that.

Welcome to the forums..:D

If you are able to see the project 360 panoramic...and test it..
Then you already have the plugin..

To enable it...;

Go to the Project Properties link within your own project--It's located on the left hand side..

..and the last tab that says Plugins...Put a checkmark..And that will enable it..:)

Also..note the size of the frames..in the Project Properties..in the test project..

Ok but on Bryce 7 I made a map. Now what do I save it as (a bmp, br7 etc)? I tried to save it as a bmp but it only came out as one shot of the map on the game.

I rendered it and saved it as a new bmp file. I made a new frame, selected the new rendered bmp, and tested it. It came out, again, as one shot of the map. :( I want to be able to look around the map like the 360 panorama game. And mercedes what pictures?

How many pixels is it...? It has to be rather large..And the frame size chosen...small..

For instance the pictures used for the test project...Most are 2048*2048..And the frame size chosen is 640*480

Do you see scroll bars on the frame...while in EDIT view..Both on the sides and top of the frame..?

**Project Properties..Plugin has to be checked..**

**The Frame's properties..where the plugin tab is...You have to set it there as well....**

The picture size is Width: 1114 pixels and the Height: 569 pixels. How do I make the frame size small? I enabled the plugin in the frame. And I see scroll bars when im on the picture frame in edit mode. xD

When it comes to rendering..and size..Aspect Ratio..
Did you get a chance to read this ?..;

http://www.adventuremaker.com/help/360_degree_panorama.htm

How do I make the frame size small?

In the Project's Properties under the Options TAB..

While in main view of your project..[thumbnail view]
..You can see where Project's Properties is..It's a yellow/orange link button..located on left hand side of window..

**Btw...what was happening during TESTING mode..?
Were you able to move mouse around...Does the picture remain static/still..? **

Take a look at that link..
There is some info there..that may not pertain..However, some of it might be very useful..

Let us know..:)

Why don't you start with little projects for beginning? :)

Start with point and click, with static frames and make your first game ;)

A few things..;

Any chance you changed the size of the picture...?

I'm pretty sure the picture will work better if it were square..

In the link I posted here...it explains further..how that works..And it looks to work much better if the picture is square..Also easier..

AM works better with a resolution of 2048 at least horizontally..[width]

If you wish to leave it that size...try messing with Aspect ratio...And angles and such in the Frame's properties..
This is assuming your picture is looking really distorted..

Or you can try rendering it differently..according to directions in the link...and see if that helps..

(Website cut out) Go here and at the top of the page you will see hq.br7. Under that you will see download file. Right click download file and choose "save target as", "Save linked content as" etc. Open the new downloaded file with Bryce 7 and you will see my map. Change it to 2048-2048 pixels and you'll see what im stuck at.

For the best results..;..Any chance you have Paintshop Pro..or Adobe Photoshop...?

*********
You could try this instead..;

Render the pictures at resolution 2048..in Bryce--only in Width..
The other size should be.. *512*

2048/4=512--Aspect Ratio = 4

From there..you stretch the picture to fit that size..2048*2048..in another software that has resizing..[Paint shop Pro]..is one..
Use the "Bicubic Resample" under Paint Shop Pro..

**The picture will still come out distorted...however it will appear normal in AM..**

I'm wondering if that's what's happening to you now..the picture is coming out distorted..and therefore you think something's off..?
Each time you do something..Try each version of map in AM..

...Sadly..I don't have Bryce, so I'm unable to fix anything for you...:(
